Patna lawyers demand CBI inquiry into Archana's disappearance
Patna, Sep 7 (UNI) Patna District Lawyers Association today demanded CBI inquiry into mysterious disappearance of Archana--the daughter of a judge--when she was returning from Darjeeling to Patna along with her husband in New Capital Express on August 14. A resolution to this effect was passed by the association in its emergency meeting held here, lawyers association president Jai Prakash Singh said adding it was also decided to abstain from judicial works during second half of the working hour of the court today.
He said the association would decide the future course of action if the government failed to concede their demand. Even after 20 days of the incident, state police had failed to find any clue in the case and only a CBI inquiry into the matter would unravel the mystery over disappearance of Archana from a running train, he maintained.
Archana-- daughter of Additional District and Session Judge of Banka Subhash Chandra Prasad had mysteriously disappeared from New Capital Express between Mokama and Bakhtiarpur railway station under East Central Railway, when she was returning to Patna from Darjeeling after a honeymoon trip. Later her husband had lodged an FIR at Government Railway Police station at Mokama railway station in this connection.
Meanwhile, the case took a ''U'' turn when Archana's mother lodged a complaint case against her husband alleging he used to torture her daugher for dowry and suspected the hand of Archana's husband in her mysterious disappearance.
