Nikkei down 0.5 pct as TDK, exporters fall

Tokyo, Sep 7: Japan's Nikkei average fell 0.5 percent on Friday with exporters such as TDK Corp down after a fall in Nikkei futures traded in Chicago.

As of 0001 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei was down 77.22 points at 16,179.78. The broader TOPIX index shed 0.5 per cent or 8.02 points to 1,560.50.
