Netravathi Express delays due to bomb hoax
Kannur, Sep 7 (UNI) The Thiruvanathapuram-bound Netravathi Express from Lok Manya Thilak was held up at Kannur railway station for nearly one hour today following a bomb threat.
An anonymous phone call was received at Kozhikode Railway station from a booth at Pantheeramkavu this morning stating that a bomb was planted in the Netravathi Express. Railway authorities passed on the message to Palakkad control room and they ordered a detailed search in Kannur railway station.
However, the bomb squad which conducted a thorough screening in the train could not find any explosive.
Meanwhile, search operation resulted in the seizure of 50 bottles of foreign liquor in a box, addressed from Dubai to Haripad.
Commuters informed the police that they found the box from Mangalore.
The bomb and dog squads, fire force, police and an RPF team were involved in the search operations.
