Mamata's stand no impact on Bengal politics

Kolkata, Sep 7 (UNI) Left Front Chairman Biman Bose today averred that Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee's severing of ties with BJP-led NDA would have no impact on the state politics.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Bose, also CPI(M) State Secretary, said veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu's description of Ms Banerjee as an ''opportunist'' was absolutely right.

Echoing former Chief Minister's observation, he also said, ''Neither does she have any ideology nor any ethics.'' Ms Banerjee told yesterday at a programme of West Bengal Madrasah Students' Union that at present her party was not with anybody and they would go all alone.
