LDF retains Mattannur Municipality

Kannur, Kerala, Sep 7 (UNI) The CPI(M)-Led Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala retained the Mattannur Municipality for the third time in a row in a crucial election, the results of which were declared today.

Of the 31 wards, CPI(M) won 22, Communist Party of India (CPI), Indian National League (INL) and Janata Dal (S) one each taking the tally of the front to 25.

The United Democratic Front won six seat with the Congress getting four, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and Communist Marxist Party(CMP) one each.
