India proposes two dates to Pak for anti-terror meet

New Delhi, Sept 7 (UNI) India has proposed two sets of dates to Pakistan for the next meeting of the Joint Anti-Terror Mechanism but is yet to receive a response from Islamabad.

An External Affairs Ministry spokesman said here today that Pakistan was waiting for appointment of a fresh points-person for the talks as the previous person had retired.

''We have proposed two sets of dates. We are yet to hear from Pakistan...,'' the spokessman told reporters.

The Joint Anti-Terror Mechanism was formed after a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf at Havana on the sidelines of the NAM Summit to identify and implement counter-terrorism initiatives and investigations. It held its first meeting in Islamabad in March 2006.
