Heavy rains continue to lash Rajasthan

Jaipur, Sep 7 (UNI) Heavy rains lashed parts of Rajasthan over the last 24 hours including Jhalawar, Karauli, Banswara and Jaipur.

Meanwhile, three people including two children were killed when lightening struck in Bhawanimandi. With this the total toll in rain-related deaths in the state has gone up to 61.

According to weather and irrgation department, monsoon is still active in Rajasthan with heavy downpours in many parts in the last 24 hours.

Asnawar in Jhalawar recorded 126 mm and other places mapped 20 to 50 mm rainfall.Karauli recorded 116 mm, Chaksu in Jaipur district 78 mm, Paota 40, Chittorgarh's Harnol 96, Gajol 68, Bainsrodgarh 34, Bhilwara's Roopheda recorded 64, Baroli 55, Bundi 36, Banswara's Peepalkhunt 74 mm, Jagatpura 57, Baran's Shahbad 66, Bharatpur's Ber 45, Dausa's Mahuwa 50 mm, Lalsot 60, Jaipur's Dhariawad 43 and Kota mapped 41 mm and other parts of the state recorded rains from 20 to 40 mm.

At least 119 dams are fully filled due to the adequate rains the state this monsoon season.

Many places in the state would witness good rainfall over the next 24 hours, according to the forecast.
