Girl student arrested with UBGL, grenade in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 7 (UNI) A Law student was today arrested by police along with a UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher) and eight grenades (UBGs) at Akhnoor, about 30 kms from Jammu, a senior official said.

The student , identified as Naheeda Altaf, of Surankote (Poonch) was arrested at Tanda, on her way to Jammu from Poonch this afternoon, DSP Atul Sharma told UNI.

One UBGL and eight grenades were seized from her possession by the police at a special checkpoint, Mr Sharma said.

The girl has been taken for questioning while a case has also been registered against her under the Arms Act, DSP said.
