Forged signature enables withdrawal of Rs 2,60,000 from bank
Lucknow, Sept 06 (UNI) A sum of two lakh sixty thousand rupees was siphoned from the account of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA's wife by way of forged signature from the Lucknow branch of State Bank of India.
Police sources said that a case has been registered in the Mahanagar police station in the Bikapur area of Faisabad district by the BSP MLA Jitendra Kumar alias Bablu Bhaiya and his wife Anita Singh where they have said that an amount of Rs two lakh sixty thousand has been withdrawn from the account through forged signatures on August 14, 2007.
The case has been registered once the matter of forged signature came to light today, he added. Police are investigating the case.
