Vadodara, Sep 7 (UNI) Ford India, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, will open at least 15 new outlets in major cities of the country by the end of 2007 as part of its aggressive market expansion programme.

According to the company's managing director and president Arvind Mathew, Ford India presently has 120 outlets across 74 cities with an addition of 12 new facilities this year.

With a view to grab its market share in the state of Gujarat, the company today opened three new showrooms -- one in Vadodara and two in Ahmedabad, and an exclusive workshop facility at Narol located on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

Inaugurating its Vadodara outlet, Mr Mathew said the company had appointed Cargo Ford in order to provide easy accessibility to Ford products and services to its Gujarat customers through these outlets and service facility.

Gujarat being the sixth largest market in India, it has huge market potential for automobiles, Mr Mathew said adding that all the four Ford models, especially Ford Fiesta, had a good market share in the state.
