Few organisations propose 'bandh' on Malegaon blasts anniv
Nashik, Sep 7 (UNI) Some Muslim organisations in Malegaon, including Kul Jamati Tanzeem, propose to observe a ''Malegaon Bandh'' tomorrow, coinciding with the first anniversary of the blasts that had claimed 31 lives, alleging that there had been no progress in the investigations.
On September 8, 2006, two bomb blasts at Bada Kabristan and Mushawart chowk area had rocked the powerloom town of Malegaon in which 31 people were killed and over 300 injured.
The probe into the blasts has been handed over to the CBI, but even after a year there has been no considerable progress in the investigations.
However, the Kul Jamati Tanzeem's call for a ''bandh'' has not evoked support from various other muslim organisations as also the Janata Dal(JD). Teesra Mahaz chief Maulana Mufti Mohammed Ismail has neither expressed support nor opposed the call.
