Female Health workers to agitate against non-payment of salary

Bhubaneswar, Sep 7 (UNI) Female health workers in orissa today threatened to stage a dharna in front of Naveen Niwas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to protest against non payment of salary.

Orissa Non-Gazetted Officers Coordination Committee General Secretary Braja Nanda today said the decision was taken as the authorities violating the Chief Minister's direction had not released the salary of the female health workers since April 2007.

Mr Nanda said earlier the Chief Minister had announced that stringest action would be taken against officials if non payment of salary to any government employee was brought to the notice of the government.

Mr Nanda said On September 11, a rally would be organised from the Karmachari Bhawan to the Naveen Niwas and a meeting will be held infront of the gates.

A memorandum would be submitted to the Chief Minister demanding the early release of salaries he said.
