DHVBN allows conversion of tubewell category
Chandigarh, Sept 7 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to give the facility of conversion of those horticulture tubewells and other low tension industrial connections to agriculture category which are practically being used for agriculture purpose.
A spokesman of the DHBVN said the scheme, to be in force till September 30, would be available to those consumers whose tubewell connections under low-tension industrial category were existing before December 1, 2006 and which were actually being used for agriculture purpose.
It would not be applicable to horticulture tubewells or other low-tension industrial connections released thereafter. The conversion of horticulture tubewell connections to agriculture category would be permitted to those eligible consumers who make entire payment of outstanding principal amount.
Surcharge, on such cases, would be waived off at the time of making such payment.
He said the eligible consumers would have to submit a written request for conversion to the concerned Assistant General Manager (AGM) of the DHBVN by September 30, 2007. The AGM would verify, by taking photos, within five days whether the connection is being used for agriculture purpose and then the report would be examined by the General Manager who would issue final orders of conversion.
The conversion would be effective from the billing cycle just thereafter and meters would be installed on all converted connections. In case such consumers have applied for tube well connections the same would be cancelled, he added.
Meanwhile, DHBVN had decided to extend the last date of the facility of waiving off surcharge on the defaulting amount standing against the tubewells used for drinking water, if they make payment of the principal defaulting amount. The scheme would remain operative up to September 30, 2007.
Surcharge on the defaulting outstanding amount as on June 30, 2007 against all such agricultural consumers, who opt for the scheme up to September 30 would be waived off. They may deposit total principal amount in installments up to March 31, 2008.
