New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will provide ''low costing housing'' flats to slum dwellers instead of allotting plots to them, Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken informed the Lok Sabha today.

In a written reply, Mr Maken said the DDA on August 9 had decided that barring those cases where directions have been received from courts, plots will not be allotted.

He said DDA is to undertake construction of the 'low cost housing' projects.

Mr Maken said the Authority has reported that there has been no undervaluation of plots.

''The disposal cost of flats is fixed as per costing policy approved by the Authority from time to time,'' he added.

The revised price of plots put to auction is also fixed as per pricing policy approved by DDA from time to time, he said.

Regarding the Commonwealth Games Project, the Minister said the DDA had not suffered financial losses due to delay in appointment a consultant for the games.

''DDA has reported that there was no procedural delay in appointment of the consultant for the Games project,'' he added.

Mr Maken said plots have been allotted to four religious organisations-- Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Raj Yog Education and Research, Delhi Mathoma Church and Methodist Church-- during the past three years.

The DDA charges fee for late construction of residential plots, he said.
