Court frames charges in Mahesh Bhatt murder attempt case
Mumbai, Sep 7 (UNI) The special MCOCA court here today framed charges against five members of the Ravi Poojari gang for their alleged involvement in an attempt to murder Bollywood film producer Mahesh Bhatt in June last year.
While framing the charges, MCOCA court judge Mridula Bhatkar said the accused -- Santosh Poojari, Ramesh Kanojiya, Arvind Devdija, Niyananad Shetty and Sampat Kotian -- had allegedly made an attempt to murder Mahesh Bhatt on June 14, last year at the latter's office.
The accused, along with wanted accused Ravi Poojari, Suresh Poojari and Sajjid, had allegedly committed an act of unlawful activity and organised crime to create terror in the society, the court observed.
The accused had allegedly fired at Mahesh Bhatt at his office at Juhu in western suburbs on June 14, last year.
