CM launches first laptop and PC manufactured in HP

Shimla, Sept 7 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today launched the Chirag laptop and Personal Computer, the first computer manufactured in Himachal Pradesh by RP Group of Companies here.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the computer was an indigenous product manufactured in the state and would prove to be a milestone in the IT sector.

The sector had thrived in the state with the setting up of IT unit in environment-friendly and pollution free atmosphere, he said in a statement here.

The Chief Minister said Himachal had the most congenial atmosphere for IT/BT industries which was bound to revolutionise the IT sector here.

State Animal Husbandry Minister Harsh Mahajan, who was also present on the occasion, said the company would supplement the endeavour of state government in giving boost to the information technology sector.
