CM inaugurates convention of marine engineers
Panaji, Sep 7 (UNI) Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today urged the need for upgrading technology, improving inland water transportation, and promoting education.
He was speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of the 21st National Convention of Marine Engineers organised jointly by the Institution of Engineers (India) Goa local centre and the Institute of Marine Engineers (India) Goa branch.
The convention is being attended by experts from India as well as from abroad. It will deliberate an important issues related to marine engineering.
The Chief Minister said the Centre has already framed a national policy on marine development, covering all aspects of the maritime sector. There is a need to make India one of the leading maritime nations of world, he added.
