CFA, SAI, NPS and SSCB in Challenge Cup semis

Chandigarh, Sept 7 (UNI) Hosts and state-run Chandigarh Football Academy (group A), Sports Authority of India (group B), local outfit New Public School Academy (group C) and Services Sports Control Board (group D) emerged as leaders in their respective group and qualified for the semi-finals of the fifth Administrator's Challenge Cup Football Tournament for Under-17 being played here today.

In the semi-finals SAI will face New Public School and CFA will play against SSCB. Chandigarh Football Academy completed their group A engagements with an al-win record after routing Delhi Soccer Association by 8-0 at the Sector 17 Football Stadium. Pankaj Negi and Gagandeep were their star performers as they contributed three and two goals, respectivley.

New Public School also remained not out in their group C league phase. The local lads blanked Haryana Football Association by 5-0 for their third successive triumph in the four-team league programme. Sahil Behal (4th), Ravl Lornie (23rd), Suresh Singh (40th), Ramandeep Singh (55th) and Gurpal Singh (70th) scored one goal each for the winners in a one-sided match.

At the Sector 42 Sports Complex Football Ground, Sports Authority of India whipped Mahilpur Football Acdemy by 5-1.

In another match at the Sector 42 Stadium, Orissa Football Association got full points at the expense of Rajasthan Football Association by 9-2. The highlight of the match was fine show by Mehendra Nayak who scored in the 44th, 45th, 50th and 77th minutes for the winners. Shaikh Naim struck in the 55th and 65th minute.

Santosh Kumar (78th) and Janmejya Samat (25th, 79th) were the other scorers for the winners. Megh Raj Singh (11th) and Dhrendra Kumar (20th) were the Rajasthan's scorers.
