BJP downplays reports of Mamata leaving NDA
New Delhi, Sept 7 (UNI) The BJP today sought to downplay reports of Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee quitting the National Democratic Alliance, saying she had been ''misquoted''.
BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the reports were incorrect and Trinamool Congress MP Dinesh Trivedi had conveyed to the NDA that Ms Banerjee had been misquoted.
''I asked him if I could go on record on this and the Trinamool Congress spokesman replied in the affirmative,'' Mr Malhotra said.
