All-India bank strike on Sep 12

Kochi, Sep 7 (UNI) The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) today called for an all-India bank strike on September 12 to press for their demands.

The demands, include granting of another pension option for employees, restoring compassionate appointment scheme and scrapping of outsourcing policy, UFBU State Convener V J Johny told reporters here today.

He said nearly 10,00,000 bank officers and employees would strike work and organise rallies and demonstrations at various centres.

''If the Government failed to settle the related issues, the forum, a consortium of nine unions, will be forced to go ahead with an indefinite bank strike,'' Mr Johny added.
