Two of family killed as Whiteline hits bike; driver arrested
New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) Two members of a family, including a nine-month-old child, were killed when a Whiteline hit a motorcycle near Akshardham temple in east Delhi this afternoon, while the driver of the bus was arrested later tonight.
While the man riding the motorcycle, Gaurav Saxena (24) died on the spot after coming under the rear wheel of the bus, the baby girl Mannat died in the hospital, according to a senior police official.
The third victim, the mother of the child, Surabhi alias Sonu (23), was fighting for life at the Holy Family hospital.
The driver of the bus - Rajender Verma - has been arrested, police said.
The family was on its way from Ghaziabad to Gurgaon for the child's 'mundan' ceremony.
The accident happened at about 1300 hrs at Noida Morh, near Akshardham temple, when the bus took a sudden turn towards left to pick passengers. The bus hit the motorcycle, crushing it and killing one on the spot.
The chartered bus, which also ferried children of the New Victor Public School, was on its way to Nizamuddin bridge when the accident occurred.
