Health Science Institute to be set in Faridabad

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved the setting up of an institute in Faridabad near the national capital at a total cost of Rs 98 crore to facilitate the development and evaluation of technologies for public health.

The Institute, called 'Transnational Health Science and Technology Institute', will be under the Department of Bio-Technology as an autonomous institution, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said after the Cabinet meeting.

The Center, over a period of seven years, will generate revenue for meeting 50 per cent of the recurring expenditure excluding salaries and infrastructure upgradation.
