Health officer nabbed for accepting bribe of Rs 500

Ahmedabad, Sep 6 (UNI) The Palanpur Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team today arrested a Health Officer of Patan district while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 500 from his subordinate staff.

According to official sources here, Patan district Health Officer Virsang Luvji Chaudhary had demanded a bribe of Rs 500 from a local health-worker Dineshkumar Ambalal Patel for clearing his pending transport allowance bills of four months.

Following this, Dinesh approached the ACB Palanpur, which laid a trap and nabbed Virsang red-handed.

The ACB has registered a case of corruption against Virsang and further investigations are on.
