Bajaj Auto confident of better sales in festive season: Bajaj
New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) Two-wheeler giant Bajaj Auto today said the higher interest rates will not have much impact on its sales during the coming festive season.
''We are quite hopeful that our sales will be very well in the next two months,'' company's Chairman Rahul Bajaj told reporters at ACMA conference here.
On the impact over the two-wheeler sales due to higher interest rates and rupee appreciation, he said, ''It might be a problem for our competitors, but not for us.'' The company is scheduled to launch its new model 'Exceed' on September 9 in Goa.
''We have our own finance company which will, if needed, help customers get loans at easier rates,'' Mr Bajaj said.
Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Santosh Mohan Dev yesterday said the government was closely watching the sector's performance, which had been below expectations in the fiscal that began in April.
''We are keenly watching the outcome of second quarter. If need be, we will certainly intervene to sustain growth,'' he said.
