Warm, humid weather return to Delhi, mercury rises to 36.5 Deg C

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) After a somewhat pleasant weather over the weekend, acute hot and humid conditions today returned to Delhi with the mercury rising to 36.5 Degree Celsius, three degrees above normal.

Following pleasant weather on Friday and Saturday, brought about by cool Easterly winds, acutely humid conditions welcomed Delhiites this morning. Even though the sky was overcast, the absence of cool winds and a high level of humidity sent Delhiites in a sweat.

Continuing, its rise since yesterday, the maximum temperature today rose to 36.2 Degree Celsius, from 35.5 Degree C yesterday.

The minimum also rose to 28.2 Degree Celsius, from 27.5 Degree C yesterday.

The humid weather kept most people indoors in the airconditioned comfort of their homes and offices.

Similar conditions could prevail in Delhi for another day or two with weathermen forecasting that rainfall activity in Delhi was likely to remain subdued in the next three to four days.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with likelihood of thundry development in some areas.
