3 die in accidents within an hour in Kolkata

Kolkata, Sep 05: At least three people were killed in road accidents at different areas of the city within an hour today.

Police said an accident occurred at Jadavpur area in South Kolkata at around 1045 hours when a Calcutta Transport Corporation (CTC) bus ran over a man, killing him on the spot.

In a separate incident, a woman was crushed to death by a speeding bus at Salimpur area under Lake police station. Immediately an irate mob blocked the road leading to a severe traffic congestion and pelted the bus with stones following the against the accident.

Police had rushed to the spot to disperse the enraged locals.

However, the driver of the bus had managed to flee.

In yet another incident a rogue bus had claimed the life of a man creating fury among the people at Moulali in Northern part of the city.

Police had rushed to the spot to control the situation.
