Hyderabad, Sep 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today alleged that Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders were making ''baseless'' allegations against Congress leaders and the state government in frustration.

Addressing a press conference here, State Finance Minister K Rosaiah, along with Legislative Council members G Venkata Reddy and Rama Raju, claimed that the TDP leaders were making allegations against the government without verifying facts and were trying to mislead the people.

He said Mr Naidu and his party leaders, who had mercilessly betrayed and backstabbed TDP founder-president and late Chief Minister N T Rama Rao were now levelling charges of lack of sincerity against Congress leaders. The TDP leaders and the then speaker did not allow Mr Rao to make a statement in the House to express his views.

Mr Rosiah took strong exception to Mr Naidu's statement that Congress Presdient Sonia Gandhi had not visited the city to console the family members of the victims of the twin bomb blasts because of her Italian origin.

The minister said though she was born in Italy, the entire country had accepted her as an Indian due to her faithful service to the nation and the people.

He said law and order was a state subject and Mr Naidu and his party leaders had not visited the kin of the victims who had lost their lives in police firing in the city during the previous TDP regime.
