SW monsoon active in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 5 (UNI) The South West Monsoon has been active over Kerala and Lakshadweep, with most places in the region getting heavy rain.
Chertala recorded the highest rainfall of eight cm, followed by Kannur seven cm, the Local Met office said.
Kottayam and Minicoy received six cm of rain each, and Kochi Airport, Haripad, Mangombu, Kasargode, Kumarakom, Vaikom and Thrissur four cm each.
The Met office warned of isolated heavy rains over Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours. It also said strong onshore winds from the North Westerly direction were likely to hit Kerala and Lakshadweep.
