Rupee settles up at 40.94/95 per dollar

Mumbai, Sep 5: The Rupee gained slightly today ending at 40.94/95 per dollar from the past close of 40.97/98, taking cue from imrpoving inflows, that are expected to push the unit up further in ensuing sessions.

During the day, the unit marched up to 40.90/91 but lost its way in the afternoon trade falling by nearly 7 paise to end at 40.94/95.

''Market continued to be quiet and kept itself in a tight range most part of the day. Considering the improving inflows from overseas destinations, Rupee may go up to 40.60-70 levels tomorrow.'', said a dealer to UNI
