Registration of properties not banned in Haryana: CS

Chandigarh, Sep 5 (UNI) Haryana Chief Secretary Promilla Issar today made it clear that registration of properties was not banned anywhere the state.

''Registration is not banned anywhere in Haryana, though a no-objection certificate is required,'' she said, while talking to reporters after assuming office.

Ms Issar said there had been a substantial increase in the revenue generated by registration in the past two years.

The revenue through registration during 2006-07 increased to about Rs 1860 crore from Rs 1373 crore in the previous financial year.

To a question, she said though her new posting was only for six months, yet it was a ''great challenge as well as a great honour for me.'' She said her main task would be to coordinate with all the departments for the successful implementation of government's programmes and policies.

Appreciating the role of media in governance, she said it educated people about the government schemes and at the same time provided public feedback to improve its functioning.
