Reduce excise duty on auto companies : Dev

New Delhi, Sept 5 (UNI) Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Santosh Mohan Dev today said he has written to the Finance Ministry on further reduction of excise duty on automobiles.

''We have written on various issues, specially on tax reduction for the automobile companies, Mr Dev told reporters here.

Domestic market cannot entirely support auto companies and there is need for export growth.

''In a bid to surge export, we have fixed up the limits for reduction in automobile taxes,'' he added.
