Railways' staff not responsible for mishap in Howrah Div

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) The August 5 collision of Katwa-Barddhaman passenger train with a truck at an unmanned level crossing between Kamnara Halt and Bardhaman stations, in which one person was killed, occurred due to ''failure of person other than Railway Staff,'' an inquiry commission today revealed.

The statutory committee, headed by the Commissioner of Railway Safety, inquired into the collision that occurred on the non-electrified section of Howrah Division of Eastern Railway at 0933 hrs on August 5.

One person was killed while five sustained grievous injuries and 13 others simple injuries as a result of the accident.
