Oppn creates ruckus in RS over demand for JPC on nuclear deal
New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) The Opposition led by the BJP today created a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha over its demand for the formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee(JPC) on the Indo-US nuclear deal, forcing its adjournment for 10 minutes.
As soon as the obituary references of two Members of the House Ashish Sen and Banarsi Das Gupta, who passed away last month, were made, the BJP and later UNPA members stood on their seats, vociferously demanding setting up of the JPC.
Shouting slogans, they trooped into the well of the House and made the proceedings of the House inaudible.
The din continued for half-an-hour after which the Chair announced suspension of the House for 10 minutes.
