One strangled, Army patrol attacked, tragedy averted in J&K
Srinagar, Sep 5 (UNI) One person was strangled to death while militants attacked an Army patrol in the Kashmir valley where a major tragedy was averted overnight.
An official spokesman said one Mohammad Aslam Khan was abducted and later strangled to death at Warpush forest in Ganderbal district this morning.
Militants attacked an Army patrol party at Patushah, Lolab, in the frontier district of Kupwara. Troops also retaliated and the encounter continued for some time. However, militants managed to escape, he said adding that there was no report of any loss of life in the incident.
Security forces today averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused live hand grenades at village Nopore Jageer in Baramulla district.
