National and State Awards conferred upon HP teachers

Shimla, Sep 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje today conferred state teachers award on five school lecturers and national award on three school teachers for outstanding achievement in 2005 and 2007.

While Ms Haripriya, Mr Padam Singh Rana, Dr Ram Kumar, Mr Sohan Lal Sharma and Ms Leela Ghai got state awards, Mr Dharu Ram, Mr Ram Singh and Mr Subash Chand Mahajan were conferred national awards.

In a function organised here, Mr Kokje presented the state awardee teachers a citation, medal and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

The national awardee teachers were presented citation medal and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Addressing the teachers on the occasion, the Governor called upon the teachers to discharge their duty with dedication and commitment and follow the footsteps of late Dr S Radhakrishan.
