MLAs to get Rs 3 lakh discretionary fund in MP
Bhopal, Sep 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today decided to provide Rs three lakh to legislators as discretionary fund towards public utilisation.
The decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
Under the assembly segment development scheme, Rs three lakh from Rs 80 lakh fixed for every assembly segment could be utilised as discretionary fund.
Public Relations Minister Lakhsmikant Sharma told reporters here today that legislators could provide a maximum of Rs 5,000 to an individual and Rs 10,000 to an institute as discretionary fund.
A legislator would have to send recommendation letter to the concerned district collector, who would issue an order on its basis.
The amount would be paid to the concerned person or institute through demand draft.
In case the matter pertained to a beneficiary in another district, the draft would be delivered through the concerned district collector.
In case recommendation is made outside fixed purpose, the matter would be presented before the Chief Minister for consideration after examination by Economy and Statistics department.
He said the cabinet decided to change the name of the Madhya Pradesh State Planning Board to the Madhya Pradesh State Planning Commission. The Revenue Minister, the Power Minister, the Industries Minister and the Forest Minister would be the members of the committee. The committee has been formed to set standard parameters.
The cabinet had decided to form a committee regarding taking necessary action over report of judicial inquiry into the death of Assistant Sub-Inspector Diwari Lal Rawat in suspicious circumstances on January 31, 2004.
