Minorities demand restoration of ''Wakf'' property
Hyderabad, Sep 5 (UNI) A group of Muslim leaders today urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to hand over prime ''Wakf'' land worth over Rs 13,000 crore in Radiuring village in neighbouring Rangareddy district taken over by it in 1980.
The above said land was gifted to ''Jama-e-Nizam in 1948 by Nawab Ghazi Yarjung Bahadur through registered gift to Jama-e-Nizam for the purpose of establishment of medical and professional colleges to uplift Muslims' education, the community leaders after visiting the site said in a release.
The signatories, including Andhra Pradesh Muslim Reservation Front President Md Iftekharuddin Ahmed and Bazme Tulba-e-Qhadeem Secretary Moulana Md Mohsin Pasha Qadri claimed that the Supreme Court had ruled that alienation, sale and transfer of title of 'Wakf' Property was ''illegal''.
