Minor driving vehicle hits two; 3-yr-old killed, woman injured

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) Negligent driving of a minor led to the killing of a 3-year-old boy and injured a woman seriously in Paschim Vihar area of West Delhi.

The culprit, a 12-year-old son of a travel agent, along with the driver of the vehicle have been arrested, said a police official.

''The driver, Deepak, was sitting next to the boy who was driving the SUV 'Qualis' when the accident took place last night at about 2100 hrs.'' The boy reportedly lost control and hit the two, he said.

The child, Vivek, who was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital soon after the accident, was declared brought dead while his aunt, Pushpa, was admitted in a critical condition.

They were returning from a nearby temple after watching 'Janamashtmi' celebrations.

The accused were caught by Pushpa's husband, Subhash, who was accompanying them, with the help of others.

The body has been sent for post mortem and a case registered.

Investigations were on the official added.
