MedVista launches school healthcare solutions

Kochi, Sep 5 (UNI) City-based MedVista Healthcare Solutions India Private Limited today launched the 'School Healthcare Programme' to monitor students' development.

''The facilities in the programme include early detection of various deficiencies, blood tests to identify conditions like diabetes and obesity and to recommend healthy food for the school children,'' said Company Chairman and CEO Samir Rahman.

The programme would be conducted by a team of doctors, speech language pathologists, audiologists, psychologists and nutritionists at various school campuses, he said.

Mr Rahman said the scheme, for students in the age group of three to 17, would be initially operational in four private schools in the district and later expanded to other schools, including Government schools, across the State.

Speech evaluation under the programme helped to screen, diagnose and refer students with articulation, fluency, communication and swallowing disabilities at an early stage and initiate corrective measures for their development, he added.

Psychologists use proven methods to study students' behaviour, stress management and detect learning disabilities.

Mr Rahman said the annual check-up would be introduced at an affordable rate of Rs one per day and the periodical reports would be given to the parents.

The company, formed by a group of Indian professionals, had expertise in healthcare, education and IT and had global presence with offices in the UAE, the UK and the US.
