Lok Sabha adjourned till 1130 hrs over nuclear deal

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was today adjourned till 1130 hrs as the BJP-led Opposition stalled the Question Hour over the setting up of a panel by the Government to look into the concerns expressed by the Left about the India-US nuclear deal.

''How can such a panel be announced outside of Parliament. This is an insult to Parliament,'' BJP Deputy leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra said as the NDA members were on their feet shouting, ''shame, shame''.

When Speaker Somnath Chatterjee's repeated pleas to allow the Question Hour to start fell on deaf ears, he adjourned the House after ten minutes. He, however, earlier congratulated the IRSO for the successful launch of GSLV-F04 and paid respect to late President Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary today, which is celebrated as Teacher's Day.
