Kongu association urges TN Govt to open toddy shops
Tiruchirapalli, Sep 5 (UNI) The district Kongu Vellala Gounders Association today urged the Tamil Nadu Government to open the toddy shops in the State immediately.
In a Statement here, Association's State President Devarajan said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the Association's district meeting held here yesterday.
Mr Devarajan said since the Government was involving the traders directly in selling IMFL liquors, permission should also be given to open toddy shops, as it would help lakhs of farmers, besides ensuring healthy drink to the needy.
The association would stage a demonstration in Chennai on September 10 to draw the Government's attention, he added.
