J'khand HC directive to DC on Lawyers' chamber building

Ranchi, Aug 5 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court today directed the deputy commissioner of Ranchi to register the lease deed of Ranchi District Bar Association on or before September 10 in connection with the proposed construction of lawyers' chamber building at the district court here.

The court further directed the lawyers of the district court to vacate the varanda of the civil court and file an affidavit before the high court within two months.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinayagam and Justice Amreswar Sahay passed the order while hearing a PIL filed by a lawyer.

Advocate General S B Gagodia informed the court that final draft of the lease deed of the land was received, on which the six-floor lawyers' chambers would be constructed.

He said the construction of the building must be completed within two years, otherwise the lease would be cancelled.

Counsel for the petitioner Delip Jerath contended the writ petition was filed for the betterment of the court building and rooms and judges' houses in all the districts of the state.

Earlier, the lawyers complained about the bad condition of the court room.
