Jammu-Srinagar Highway closed due to landslides
Jammu, Sep 5: Vehicular movement on 300 km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been suspended following landslides triggered by heavy rains at Panthal in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir today, official sources said here.
The only link between Kashmir valley and the rest of the country was suspended as heavy rains triggered landslides at Panthal, 175 kms from Jammu, sources said.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel have started their work to clear the road, sources added.
Hundreds of vehicles including passenger buses were awaiting for clearance of the road, sources said.
