Integrated computerisation project approved for registration

Bhopal, Sep 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today approved integrated computerisation project of IG registration and registrar stamps office under the commercial taxes department.

A scheme worth Rs 20.25 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose by the state government.

The decision was taken at state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.

Under the project, departmental activities would be computerised and linked by networking with 44 district registrar offices and 226 sub-registrar offices with the office of the IG registration, an official release said here today.

This arrangement would help store information of computerised registration and e-stamping undertaken by all the registration offices of the state in the central server located in Bhopal headquarters.

Moreover, this facility would also help check fraudulent practice of re-sale of the same property through registration by the seller.

Besides, possibilities for sale of fake stamps would be eliminated completely by e-stamping arrangements.

Information on liabilities and ownership on the property would be restored through computerised checking. Besides, proper and effective arrangements would be ensured to check tax evasion.

In addition to this, digitisation of registered records of the last 13 years would be done under the project that would help provide information on the transfer of property through computer search.

An amount of over Rs six crore, which is spent annually on printing of stamps at present would be saved after the implementation of the project.

Further, the one to four armed guards arrangements, which is made for security of double lock of treasuries and sub-treasuries would become ineffective with the elimination of stamps arrangements.

This would help save amount spent on around 1300 armed guards by the state government.

As per the present arrangements, registration of property is done at the office of the deputy registrar office under which the location of the property falls. After computerisation, registration of the property located anywhere in the state could be done from any deputy registrar office of the state, the release added.
