Honda siel to unveil new version of ''city''

New Delhi, Sept 5 (UNI) In a bid to boost its sales, Honda Siel India Ltd today said it will soon launch an improved version of 'city', with enriched features at a higher price.

''The new city will have advance features in comparision to the existing city model and the price tag will be higher.'' company's General Manager (Marketing) Jnaneswar Sen told reporters here.

He however, refused to comment on the exact time of launch and the price of the new model.

The company is targeting sales figures of 65,000-70,000 units by the end of March 2008.

Mr Sen said, adding, that the production capacity will touch one lakh by January next year.

''Last year, we sold ''civic'' in huge numbers but this year city's performance is good. we should be doing better in C segment as well.'' The company is committed to launch its premium small car in the Indian market by mid 2009.

The Indian unit of Japan's Honda Motor Co Ltd has registered a decline of seven per cent in its August car sales at 4,879 units, from 5,247 units a year earlier.
