Allahabad, Sep 5 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has taken a strong view on handing over the land possession to a man belonging to Kol caste by the order of the Sonbhadra DM and SDM on direction of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Minister.

A two-judge bench comprising Justices V M Sahai and Krishna Murari passed the order on a writ petition filed by Banveer Bahadur Singh.

The HC directed the Sonebdhara DM and Ghorawal SDM to file personal affidavits, explaining under what authority of law, they had disposed the petitioner under dictates of a minister.

The court has summoned the duo on September 21.

Anil Kumar Maurya, BSP MLA from Rajgarh, Lucknow, had written a letter on July 11 to UP Revenue Minister Swami Prasad Maurya, stating the petitioner had illegally grabbed Ram Ruchi's land nine years back.

Later, the minister had directed the Sonebhadra DM and SDM to get the illegal possession removed and take action against the guilty.

In compliance to his orders, the DM had directed the Ghorawal SDM to take action within three days.
