HC issues notice to govt in navy war room leak case

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) Delhi High Court today issued notice to the Government on a letter by sacked Navy commander and an accused in Navy war room leak case Vinod Jha.

A division bench comprising Justices R S Sodhi and B N Chaturvedi issued notices, returnable by September 17, asking the government to file its reply to the accusation that the trial in the case against Jha was being inordinately delayed.

Jha had written to Justice Sodhi calling for an independent probe into the matter. He had alleged that even after spending 17 months in jail, the trial against him was yet to commence. He also alleged that the was being tortured by the CBI.

Jha is presently lodged in Tihar Central Jail here.
