Former union minister Harmohan Dhawan joins BSP
Chandigarh, Sep 5 (UNI) Former union minister Harmohan Dhawan today joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) alongwith his supporters.
Mr Dhawan was a close confidant of former prime minister, the late Chandrashekhar and was minister of civil aviation in his ministry. He was then elected to the Lok Sabha from Chandigarh.
At a press conference here, Mr Dhawan also announced the dissolution of his Chandigarh Vikas Manch (CVM) and its merger with the BSP. Five CVM members of the Municipal Corporation also announced their decision to join the BSP.
Mr Dhawan made this announcement in the presence of Mr Mann Singh Manhera, national secretary of the BSP for Chandigarh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Mr Dhawan had met BSP chief and UP chief minister Mayawati on Monday last.
