Eight people killed as bus plunges into ravine in Karnataka

Chickmagalur, Sep 5 (UNI) Eight people were killed and 31 others injured when a private bus fell into a deep gorge near Kavikalgundi in the Chickmagalur-Bababudangiri section of the state highway, today.

Superintendent of Police Vipul Kumar told UNI that the bus, on its way to Bababudanagiri hill station from Chickmagalur, fell into the gorge while negotiating a curve.

The driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a steep curve on way to the hill top, police said.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and supervised rescue operations.
