Rourkela, Sep 5 (UNI) Doctors and other paramedical staff in the Rourkela Government Hospital(RGH) today resorted to ceasework agitation in protest against the attack on them by the relatives and supporters of a patient, who died.

The doctors had threatened to go for an indefinite ceasework agitation from tomorrow if the culprits involved in ransacking the hospital and assaulting them were not be arrested.

RGH Chief Medical Officer P C Ray said the emergency and the operation service were not affected due to the agitation by the doctors. He too demanded the people involved in the vandalism should be booked forthwith.

Police said the mob, which included relatives of one 18-year-old Srikant De, ransacked the hospital and attacked the attending doctors and other staff after the boy died yesterday.

Alleging sheer negligence on the part of the doctors and the staff, the mob assaulted the doctor and nurses and ransacked the hospital.

Nobody had been arrested yet in connection with the incident, police said.
